Booked this hotel through a travel agent in Angeles for about 1200 Piso plus taxi (2000 Piso one way, costs 400 Piso with the minibus). This turned out to be a mistake, because: We had paid in advance and had to take what we were given. The hotel was completely booked out. I had the smallest room I had ever had and was not able to swap if for something a little larger, was a bit like a shoebox, was so small that it was almost impossible to take photos.
There was a bed in it, a tiny TV and a tiny fridge, that was it. The air conditioning was rubbish, no power. After taking a shower in the tiny bathroom I was completely sweaty within minutes. However, they did provide me with a fan, wasn’t too bad then.
At first I was very angry, but moving to another hotel would have been too much stress just for a couple of nights. I decided to get used to the situation.
But: I would stay in the hotel again, apart from that it was ok, I had just had a little bit of bad luck with the room. Next time I will book a room myself from Angeles City by telephone and make sure that they give me a decent room. Take a look at the homepage; they also have large rooms with a sea view.
The beach is quite nice, no need for a pool. The restaurant is good, the portions (good steaks) American size. The personnel are friendly. There is only a safe in the office; one is given a key for the padlock. Ones own lock would be more of an advantage, keeps one happy at mind, but then again nothing went wrong.
Of course the hotel is hospitable, the ‘floating bar’ right in front of the hotel’s beach is surely a notable ‘institution’, one is able to reach it on a small hand operated ‘cable ferry’. Where else in the world is one able to ‘hire’ girls on a ‘floating bar’? But at the usual price of course. They also like to accompany one for a bout of ‘short time’.
As already mentioned, would stay at the place again, but keep your eyes open when booking!
