Hotel tip down at Victory Beach:

Oh oh, what do I see on the back of the card, they only have a ‘branch’ in Poipet with the same name; this is down at the Thai border near Aranyaprathet…. That’s were a lot of gambler hotels are situated.

Oh well, doesn’t matter, one experiences the atmosphere once in the foyer…. The hotel is by all means generously laid out, especially for local conditions…. One armed bandits all over and in every small corner. So what, one doesn’t have to use them. I wasn’t allowed into the actual casino with my cams and I couldn’t be bothered to discard them either, so I let them show me a few rooms and explain the prices: Is by all means an alternative.

Prices: the cheapest room costs 18 US Dollars; those who just stop for the weekend pay two bucks extra. The room is good, a bargain at the price, well, I think so anyway. The same goes for the suites: One has a lot of room for 40 US Dollars, two rooms furnished with solid furniture, a balcony and a nice sea view. Ok, it’s not quite Brittany here; let’s just say ‘a view of the water’. The location is not all that bad though, I am thinking about trying it out, I mean one is never able to reside central in SHV, and if so, then away from the beaches.
