Angeles City drains energy: The town seems to have the upper hand with this being the reason that after some time I flew on to Boracay. Unfortunately I took a chick from Angeles along with me and later on found out that this had not really been necessary: There are ample freelancers hanging around the bars and along this “trail”, which stretches for kilometres down the main road. Apart from that there are karaoke bars within which one can find what one is looking for. I visited a couple of them but there are defiantly a few more.
I booked the flight and hotel as a package deal, not all that cheap really with it being a very good hotel. Return flights alone from Angeles to Caticlan cost about 6000 Piso. Strangely enough the hotels charge per person for a room, another reason for travelling alone. I could have taken anyone I wanted to my hotel, wouldn’t have bothered anybody at all.
So, off from Clark Airport (15 minutes by taxi from the Fields Avenue), the flight in the tiny thing (17 seater) from Seair took an hour. We were picked up in Caticlan, took five minutes to get to the docks. Another 10 minutes by boat to the island.
I stopped in the Boracay Regency
would recommend this place to anyone who is not bothered about paying a few cents extra. We stayed there for about 10 days. As expected the service is very good, of course the food as well. It has the islands largest pool (Never saw anyone swimming in it though – who the hell needs a pool when there is water like THAT?). Safe and internet in the room. Will be writing a detailed hotel report for the homepage soon. By the way, there are also enough good-value low-priced hotels on Boracay.
